Mil palabras: 1986

Glory days

My mom has always said that we, her children, were never as well dressed as when she had control over the clothes that we wore. We took the studio portrait above 20 years ago, and I’m not sure we’ve ever looked so good.

  1. Oh damn, I can’t believe you willingly post your childhood pictures up like this, that certainly takes courage. If I post mine up, with my boots and tight ass pants on, I could only imagine the shit I would get from Oso and everybody else. :-)

Btw, your lil bro, Adrian?, is one cute lil kid with them chubby cheeks, as are the rest of you too.

  2. CAD,
Later that year, my mom made me cut my hair because I was too bratty and didn’t want to wear it in braids.

    Pedro,
Last time I took pictures at Olan Mills was for my quinceañera. Those probably won’t be posted…

    Joe,
That reliable gold signature is on many of our family portraits. I bet the photographer’s assistant and my mom was holding up a stuffed animal or two to get Adrian’s attention.

    Julissa,
I try. But really, this was all my mom’s doing.

    HP,
I have nothing to fear. Adrian even let me post a picture of him naked (on flickr). We were all so much cuter back then, might as well exploit it.

  3. my mom, to this day, hates every single piece of clothing i own – except for what she picked out. i think it’s a mom thing, the kind of thing that you swear you won’t inherit when you become a mom but somehow do…

    good lookin kids though :)
