great pics Cindy...FYI Maribel did not go teach, she was at the marcha and the Dean did not accomodate those that wanted to go to the march. HIs rationale:go to the afternoon march after the morning finals. There goes any kind of understanding on what it means to have an all day boycott.

I got my timing all messed up and arrived at Cantu Pan-American parke in East Austin way too early. I had to go before anyone got there. So, I didn't take many fotos. Pero, I'm glad a dear Austinite, Jenn, took lots of photos.

Hola CindyLu.

Una fotografia tan linda y fuerte en su mensaje! Es maravillosa de atestigar a una demostracion de tanta solidaridad de nuestra gente!

I am a 6th generation Chicano-American citizen. Before all the Anglo bigots came out of the woodwork recently, I never gave much thought to my heritage. But maybe the racists have done me a favor. I feel Latino now, I feel a kinship with all my Latino cousins that I've never felt before.

Tengo orgullo en mi cultura, en hablar espanol, en las tradiciones de mi gente.

I have heard that the demonstrations have been strongest in California, New Mexico, Florida, south Texas, Chicago and New York. The haters in many of the Red States in the South, Midwest and Mountain States haven't been able to stop it. I

California is a wonderful place for us, where we have both ethnic solidarity and non-Latinos sympathetic to our plight. Arizona and New Mexico, south Florida and San Antonio are also great places. Latinos stuck in states like Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Dakotas, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, Maine, New Hampshire, Minnesota, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana should really consider moving out to Cali, New Mexico or Arizona, to San Antonio or south Florida. In combination with other sympathetic states (such as New Jersey and Maryland), if we achieve such demographic and economic solidarity, we have the capacity to hold off the bigots and block them from power.

Aqui es la hora para triunfar para nuestra gente! Debemos unir y luchar juntos para nuestra causa y nuestra gente, somos unidos!
