Hey! I started reading some of your posts and came across this one! I totally remember grandpa working his magic on people, including us. When he couldn't keep an eye on me and louie he would give us busy work to do around the house. He would never let us watch TV though because then we wouldn't have been able to hear grandma in case she called for him from the back room of the house. Haha! Lots of wonderful memories! Thanks cousin!

I remember your grandpa and his sobadas. I used to love watching him do the thing with the fire in the glass...it was so cool.

[...] My back issues today are probably punishment for laughing that day. I have no clue how I hurt my lower back today. I was fine when I woke up, showered and got ready, but as I left for class I felt a sore pain in my lower left back. I decided to tough it out and go to class. In class, I shifted seat as we did check-ins and the pain got more intense. I made a face and my classmate asked what was wrong. I left campus later thinking of how much I’d love to be able to see Grandpa, who was a well known sobador in Boyle Heights, and have him fix whatever is wrong. [...]

i was scared to get massages. Sometimes he'd crack my neck, and i was so scared i'd want to cry. I'm sure he'll come to you in you're dream, and tell you how to take care of your wrist. Don't you remember the story about Danny's back. My tio John couldn't fix, over and over again. One night, my tio finally had a dream, where grandpa told him how to fix danny's back. He called danny over the next day, re-aligned his back, and he was healed. It was a miracle! I love that story.

nice piece on your abuelito. i only have my abuelita on my moms side and my abuelito on my fathers side alive and try to enjoy the moments that i have with them--even for all the mistakes they made in their lives--they made many more choices that affect us in positive ways that shape our own views and what we would like to become. I hope your mom is doing well. te cuidas

God Cindy...How I miss him! I truly appreciate all those eloquently stated words about our grandpa. I truly miss his ability to help us even though it hurt like heck, but that hug and smile made it all better in the end. And you say you are a chillona!
