Patience is a virtue
Patience isn’t easy. I don’t like waiting in long lines or sitting in traffic.
I also struggle with patience when it comes to music and my favorite band, Café Tacuba. They haven’t released a new album since 2003. I haven’t seen them play live since 2005. Last year I bumped in to three of the band members at a concert and they told me they were working on a new album. I hope it comes out soon. I need it. For now, I’ll just listen to this untitled new song they played at the Festival Vive Latino in Mexico City last month.
And yeah, this song is definitely part of my summer 2007 mixtape.
Cool song. I can’t wait for Café Tacvba’s new album. I saw Emmanuel at SXSW this past year. I was watching Album TV, this bad-ass band from Mexico City, and I casually turn around to scope the crowd y right behind me is el Tacvbo. I turn to my wife, “Sweetie, turn around!”
“What?”
“Turn around!”
“Why?”
“Just do it, look!”
My wife turns around.
“Holy crap!”
Of course I acted all cool como si nada and just nodded over in his direction…es todo.
So, have you heard the new Liquits? Volován? or that, can I say, horrendous duet with Miranda! y Julieta Venegas?
I guess we’ll be seeing you here:

London’s Groove Armada transports you to a stylish and funky UK dance club with hypnotic big beats.
César,
Hah! That was totally how I felt when I bumped in to them last year the Liquits show. However, I couldn’t play it cool because it was Meme and Joselo and Quique! Eek! I don’t think I’ve ever been as starstruck in my life. I’ve heard the new Volován (which I like a lot) and the new Liquits (I like a lot too!, “Te Comes Lo Que Dices” will be part of the summer soundtrack).
Supa Dupa,
Hell yeah! I’ll be there dancing like a madwoman. I don’t care if the people behind me start complaining. That’s one of the things I don’t like about the Hollywood Bowl. You always have your sticks in the mud who want to sit down and enjoy the show or hardly know the band mixed in with the diehard fans who can’t help but dance.
i hope they release an album soon!
Personally i’m hoping cafe quijano is still together, they haven’t released anything in forever too!
