Question of the week: Autumn
My summer is officially over. Classes have started once again at UCLA and this week has been packed with receptions and orientation meetings. I’ve been swamped at work making sure everything is squared away with the freshmen and sophomores in the program.
Even though I’m exhausted, I can’t complain. Last weekend, we finally got some rain and cooler temperatures. The Bruins are doing okay. Ugly Betty and The Office are back with new episodes. I shouldn’t watch as much television as Melanism, but somehow I think I’ll find something to replace Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls. The Dodgers are out of playoff contention and may barely be ending the season above.500, but at least I can cheer on the Bruins. Finally, there’s the concerts: Rilo Kiley, Rodrigo y Gabriela and Café Tacuba.
But what am I looking forward to the most? (We all know what I’m dreading)

turkey dinners, then the sandwiches…
The change of the seasons, snow/rain, the Red Sox in the playoffs, Patriots football, Harvard-Yale football game at Yale in mid-November, and a mariachi competition in San Antonio in the beginning of December. So much fun!

People still enjoy Cafe Tacuba? I thought they jumped the shark with that double album in the mid-90s (titled ’soy/reves/’, I believe.) It’s been all downhill from there. Just another band punching the clock. Dissapointing, considering all the good work they’d done up til then.
But I suppose mediocre Cafe beats the awful Mana any day of the week.
I too am looking forward to Sino. Its gonna be bomb!

halloween! it’s not done much here so i’m going to incorporate it into my classes. esl ghost stories! i’m so excited.
Weird…i usually look forward to halloween or something, but this year? i can’t think of a single thing. Maybe the changing color of leaves? a possible roadtrip to up the east coast? No se. huh. i just bummed myself out.
Cafe Tacuba has jumped the shark? If so, I think Cindylu should make a Britney Spears-esque “Leave Cafe Tacuba Alone!” video.
