Question of the week: Don’t Call Me During…
I don’t watch as much television as Melanism (24 hours!), but do value his taste. We agree on our love for Lost and mourned the demise of Veronica Mars together. I feel like there’s a void on Tuesday nights without Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars.
So far, I’ve only been able to get into one new show Pushing Daisies. I’m behind on The Office because I settled on watching Grey’s Anatomy instead (the television in the living room belongs to my roommate and she likes GA). I tried getting in to Heroes, but I didn’t watch season 1 and don’t really know what’s going on. I just want to catch up so I know what’s going on when Kristen Bell joins the cast next week.
So, don’t call me (not like many people actually call me) during:
Sundays
9-10: Desperate Housewives
10-11: Brothers & Sisters (didn’t watch last season after the first couple of episodes, but it’s kept my attention so far)
Wednesdays
8-9: Pushing Daisies (sooo quoteable)
I tried watching Gossip Girl just for Kristen Bell’s narration, but it doesn’t hold my attention.
Thursdays:
8-9: Ugly Betty
9-10: Grey’s Anatomy or The Office
La pregunta: What are you watching?
whatever blockbuster is stocking. (had to quit netflix because while the service is great mainland, it’s absolutely not worth it here. saw all the scrubs there was to see that way, though.) i started with a newer season of nip/tuck which was just godawful- disappointing considering how great it seemed in the first and maybe second season. then i moved on to the l word. watched the first three seasons, this store doesn’t have the fourth. now i am in season two of grey’s anatomy. i was going to start six feet under but they don’t have the first season.
mostly just don’t call me after 10pm or i will yell at you the next day.
I haven’t watched much of it but the one show I really do like is Dexter. My man is the shit! It takes the whole CSI thing to a whole new level.
i watch Brothers & Sisters, Ugly Betty and Grey’s Anatomy too! i also like Friday Night Lights, Girlfriends, and Men in Trees. i haven’t decided if i like The Practice yet. i have to admit though, i usually watch them online–because i always forget when they’re on!
CBC’s The Hour.

We like a lot of the same shows! Big fan of Ugly Betty, Grey’s Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters, The Office and the new shows that caught my attention are:
Pushing Daisies (Love it! Makes me want to eat sweets though.)
Aliens in America (Hilarious, yet edgy at times)
Gossip Girl (I wasn’t too sure about it at first, but I’m hooked now)
I’ve heard a lot about Cane (CBS) though, anyone seen it?
Ugly Betty, Iron Chef, Project Runway, Iron Chef America and the best…MONK!
Sadly, no novelas. After Zorro was over I haven’t gotten into anything new. I miss my novelas!
Is it bad that I don’t even know what the hell is on network TV anymore?
Is it me, or is it getting weirder and weirder to call people?
Doesn’t everyone email or SMS now a days?
Mondays: Heroes!!! we have viewing parties at my house. This week after we watch the new episode we hope to start viewing the 1st season’s key episodes because we have a couple of newbies in the crew.
Tuesday: “Reaper” is good.
Wednesdays: BIONIC WOMAN!!! she is good. “Life” right after is very good.
Thurs: UGLY BETTY, last week’s episode about Betty using someone else’s essay in a class was the weakest UB I’ve seen. Very quoteable show.
Friday: saw one episode of the vampire thing on 2 or 4? It was alright but I’m not usually in on Friday night anyways.
I had no idea Kristen Bell narrated GG. I was watching football last night and one of the promos for ‘Heroes’ mentioned she is now a cast member. I’ve never seen the show but I’m tempted to watch it just for her. Sigh.
I’ve been watching ‘Deadwood’ Season 1 recently. She comes out in that, midway into the season. I heart Kristen Bell. The show’s solid. Ian McShane is justly praised.
I’ve worked my way through ‘Six Feet Under’. All I need to see now is the series finale. I watched the first 2 episodes, then watched Seasons 2-5. It’s probably best to start at the first season with any show but it’s not neccessary.
Saw the first half of ‘Weeds’ Season 2 over the weekend. (I guess I’ve been watching a lot of TV on DVD recently).
Someone mentioned Nip/Tuck. I’ve seen the first 3 seasons (out of order. Don’t ask.) I thought they were all great. A lot of people got turned off by Season 3 because it was quite dark, but I had not problem with it. (Remember that really dark season on ‘Buffy’?) I haven’t seen Season 4.
After 18 years I stopped watching the Simpsons. It had become a sort of loveless marriage between TV show and viewer. ‘The Simpsons Movie’ was okay. Better than any of the episodes in the last 5 seasons.
I haven’t seen ‘Dexter’ but I did read half the book it is based on yesterday(‘Darkly Dreaming Dexter’). I decided to do that before seeing the first season. It seems like a run of the mill crime novel. I’m surprised anyone saw a potential for a TV show in it.
I keep meaning to watch ‘Cavemen’. In the meantime I still pine for the return of ‘Arrested Development’, ‘The Tick’, ‘Greg the Bunny’, ‘Shasta McNasty’, and “Homeboys in Outerspace”. The last 2 weren’t good but fell into the so bad they’re good category. Bad TV is often the most fun TV.
P.S What no movies? I saw ‘Babel’ last week. Pretentious, self important and boring.
I don’t watch a lot of tv. The most is probably my daily dose of Oprah on TiVo. But you call me during Oprah and we can chat about the day’s topic.
However, I do get pissy when people call me during 30 Rock or The Office. Those shows have big laugh-out-loud moments but they also have a lot of subtle humor that you need to watch/listen for. How can I possibly do that and chat at the same time?
30 Rock has a time conflict with Ugly Betty. So I watch UB online. So glad ABC does that because it’s practically commerical free!
Ummm… America’s Next Top Model, I Love New York 2, Run’s House, Kimora Lee Simmon’s Life in the Fab Lane, Nip/Tuck. I’m sad that Top Chef is already over.
rarely watch tv live beyond MTV Tres and Current…tivo season passes to ugly betty, las vegas, entourage, and french in action…
