Question of the week: Battling the blues

These past few weeks have been tough. I took my qualifying exam. I didn’t feel so good after it and pretty soon (no more than two weeks) I should get my results. Then of course there’s more things to add to the mix, but I won’t go in to them here.

I’m counting on Cafe Tacuba tomorrow night and ice skating on Friday to cheer me up.

  1. I get on my turntables and do a mix to fight the blues.
    Music can save your life!

    I also:
    Rent good movies,
    Eat great food,
    Ride my bike through skid row and see that I got it better no matter what,
    Hang out with cheery, happy people!

  2. Usually with shopping, but even that lately has seen sort of eh. I find that I’ve been sleeping A LOT…but really, that’s not combating anything…Oh well..One more week or so of school, then I can start dealing with things.

  3. My cure for the blues varies according to the severity of said blues. If it’s fairly mild, vodka, food with absolutely no nutritional value, and a little Guitar Hero and/or rocking out to silly 80s songs does the trick. If it’s approaching deep depression, fleeing the country or feeding the adrenaline junkie beast helps.

  4. depends on what kind of blues ;)
    travel, music & sun
    or
    te, veladora de la virgen de Guadalupe, y mi familia
    or
    a hybrid of the above gets me out of my funk also…
