		<description>A couple of points:

1. It was certainly very rude and inappropriate for Republican Joe Wilson to yell as he did. But&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.mererhetoric.com/archives/11275877.html&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt; compared to how Democrats treated Bush&lt;/a&gt;, Republicans have been far more civil.

2. Technically speaking, both Joe Wilson and Obama were correct. Obama is right that the healthcare bills before congress do not specifically provide healthcare to illegal immigrants but Joe Wilson is also correct in that Democrats in the House voted repeatedly to strike language from their bill that would have included the same verification of eligibility that is required for welfare benefits. So it does make it overall easier for illegal immigrants to actually get healthcare.

 3. Id be very careful just how much government benefits we give to illegal immigrants. The more benefits they get, the more backlash there is against immigration in general (Totally throws off your analogy above - it would be like the Haitian&#039;s coming in and eating more than their share). So on the one hand you benefit illegal immigrants here but you harm illegal immigrants wanting to come here. And since those that want to come are likely to be poorer and in more need of help, a better balance is to support immigration unqualified, but be adamantly against them - while still immigrants - from getting benefits. Atleast that has been my position.</description>
